October 17, 2017

  • A caller said she received in the mail “information for a Secret Shopper, which she is not part of,” and “a $2,500 check.” An officer responded and inspected the materials and “does not believe this is a real deal.”
  • A caller reported seeing two suspicious males. An officer responded.
  • A Perry Community School District bus driver reported a school bus violation. The driver said a motorist passed when the “bus was stopped” and “unloading students with red flashers on.” An officer responded.
  • A caller reported an abandoned bicycle. An officer responded, and the bicycle “was picked up and taken to the shed.”
  • A caller said “her neighbor’s dog got loose” and “attacked her dog.” The caller said “her husband was also bitten.” An officer responded, and Amber Escalante of 1808 W. Third St., Perry, was issued a citation for first-offense vicious dog and first-offense dog at large.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with a letter he received. An officer responded. The man said he “just wanted the department aware of the scam.”
  • A caller said “her boyfriend’s vehicle has been vandalized.” the caller said “the cable to the battery was cut off” by vandals. Officers responded.
  • A caller reported a “neighbor was outside looking for their dog,” and “a small child was helping him. At one point, the man picked the child up and struck her on the back.” An officer responded and made contact with the neighbor, who said his daughter “wasn’t listening about staying out of the road, and he spanked her for not listening.” The officer spoke with the child, who said “she wasn’t listening to her dad about the road.”
  • A caller said “today two checks were stolen from her residence.” Officers responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “she met someone on a dating website” and now “believes she was scammed by the person.” An officer responded.
  • Woodward Police Chief Joe Cox “advised he was en route to DCH with a female who is out of control.” He requested assistance from a Perry Police Department Officer “since she has assisted with this female before.” The officer responded.

October 18, 2017

  • A caller said “sometime overnight her garage was broken into.” An officer responded.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
