Perry Police Report Oct. 29

October 28, 2018

  • A pair of landlords entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “on several occasions their tenant” has “allowed her child to run around in just undies.” The landlords said they “were concerned” for the child’s “safety.” An officer responded and referred the landlords to the Iowa Department of Human Services.
  • A caller said “two children ages 2 to 3 were walking” unattended “near the highway.” A second caller lodged “the same complaint.” An officer responded but did not find “any kids on the highway.”
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and “reported the theft of property that was inside his residence.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said people were “cutting a tree down” and “blocking the road.” An officer responded and found the “roadway was cleared.”
  • A caller said he caught a dog running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Control Facility.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and “said she is being harassed by her mother,” who “bothers her” at her workplace. An officer responded, made contact with the mother and advised her to have “no more communication” with the daughter, or “she could be charged with harassment.”
  • A caller said “she’s concerned” someone “is going to vandalize her vehicle.” Officers were advised.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Control Facility.
  • A 14-year-old boy from Perry was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Andy Alejandro Perez, 30, 2015 Seventh St., #4, Des Moines, was arrested on a charge of driving under suspension.

October 29, 2018

  • Shawna Marie Frakes, 29, 6500 Hickman Road, #39, Urbandale, was arrested on a charge of first-offense OWI.
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department “found a destroyed computer moden, possibly belonging to the high school.” The “item was logged into evidence.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
