Sept. 27, 2021

  • A 2008 Dodge Avenger, registered to Kendra Harris of Baxter and driven by Mindy Lynn Reed of Kildare, Oklahoma, collided with a 2008 Jeep, registered to and driven by Ashlee Marie Barnes of 2323 Porter Ave., Des Moines at the entrance to McDonald’s. No injuries were reported, Damages were estimated at $1,000. Reed was issued a citation for failure to provide proof of financial liability-accident related.

Sept. 28, 2021

  • Officers responded to a report of a car burglary in the 1800 block of Lucinda Street. The loss was estimated at $5. The case is under investigation.
  • Officers responded to a report of a car burglary in the 1200 block of Second Street. The loss was estimated at $150. The case is under investigation.
  • Officers received a report of a car burglary in the 900 block of Willis Avenue. The loss was estimated at $40. The case is under investigation.
  • Officers received a report of a car burglary in the 900 block of W. Second Street. No loss was reported.

Sept. 29, 2021

  • Officers responded to a report of a car burglary in the 300 block of Warford Street. A cell phone used for emergency calls only was possibly taken. The case is under investigation.

Sept. 30, 2021

  • A 2013 Volvo, registered to and driven by Abedom Okubazgi Yhidego of 2512 Perry Park Ave., Perry, collided with a 2006 Honda Civic Sedan, registered to Maria M. Cortez De Martinez of 3916 Cornell St., Des Moines, and driven by Clemente Cordero Chajon of 1314 Hull Ave., Des Moines, near First Avenue on Iowa Highway 141. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $10,000. Yhidego was issued a citation for failure to provide proof of insurance-accident related, violation of an instruction permit limitation and failure to stop in assured clear distance. Chajon was issued a citation for failure to provide proof of financial liability-accident related.

Oct. 1, 2021

  • Officers received a report of a shoplifter in the 400 block of First Avenue. The case is under investigation.
