September 22, 2017

  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “he caught a stray cat.” An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A caller asked whether an officer of the Perry Police Department would “pick up a stray cat he has in his trap.” An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • A caller said “a couple of weeks ago she spoke with” an officer “about issues between her daughter and another girl. The issues have not stopped.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a woman “had her van locked and her child inside.” An officer responded, and a local towing service was notified.
  • A caller said his dog was running at large. Shortly afterward, a man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with a dog matching the description of the caller’s dog. The caller picked up his dog.
  • A caller said her bicycle was stolen. An officer responded.
  • A caller said a juvenile “was leaving his house and breaking curfew.” An officer responded.
  • A caller “requested a welfare check on an employee who was not feeling well today when he left work.” The caller said “he has tried calling his home and cell phones and has not been able to get an answer.” The caller said he was “concerned for him because he is diabetic and lives alone.” An officer responded and made contact with the worker, who was “fine.” The officer “asked him to call his boss, and he said he would.”
  • Sean Harrington, 24, 306 No. Main St., #3, Carroll, was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for probation violation on an original charge of possession of a controlled substance.
  • Jeffrey Leigh Harrington, 55, 118 N. Main St., Madrid, was arrested on charges of driving under suspension, second-offense possession of methamphetamine, second-offense possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dog.
  • William Petty, 22, was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana.
  • Miranda Schlicht, 18,  was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana.
  • Nicole Anschutz, 18,  was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana.

September 23, 2017

  • A caller said “there was a burglar alarm at Casey’s east.” Officers responded and “found the front door glass had been shattered.” The incident is under investigation.
  • A 911 caller reported “a male and a female arguing,” and the female “sounded distressed.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said “when he came into the store,” he “discovered the front door was open.” Officers responded and found “the front glass had been broken out. Someone gained entry and took medication from the store.” The incident is under investigation.
  • A caller said someone “was recording him as he passed by with his dogs.” The caller said he believed the person “is retaliating” because the caller “called her in a couple of days ago because her dogs attacked his.”
  • A caller reported an abandoned bicycle on her property. An officer responded, and the “bike was taken to the bike shed.”

September 24, 2017

  • Melina Brooke Callahan-Lopez, 32, 722 Highway St., #1A, Coon Rapids, was arrested on a Dallas County warrant on a charge of second-degree burglary and on a charge of possession of methamphetamine.
  • A caller reported “a man and a woman arguing by a truck pulling a load of hay.” Officers responded.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said “she is being harassed by a group of people who followed her into the police department.” An officer responded and “advised all parties to leave eachother alone and to have no contact with the other.”
  • A caller said someone “has been abusive toward his teenage daughter.” An officer responded.
  • Elysa Segebart, 1420 Third St., was issued a citation for first-offense dog at large.
  • A caller said “a man riding a bike was digging through the dumpster.” An officer responded but did not find the man.
  • A caller said “there was someone on her porch,” and she “could hear her dogs barking.” Officers responded but did not find anyone on or near the caller’s porch.

September 25, 2017

  • A caller said someone “called her regarding her computer.” The caller said “she didn’t give us any information and just wanted us aware.”
  • A caller requested a welfare check on someone “due to things she was posting on social media.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said two dogs were running at large. Officers responded, and “both dogs were taken to the pound.”
  • A caller said his neighbor “drove his vehicle through his garage.” Officers responded and made contact with the neighbor, who said “his gas pedal must have become stuck, resulting in his truck driving through his garage.”
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dog.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with a dog he caught running at large. An officer responded and “transported the dog to the pound.”
  • A caller reported “a cow running loose on P58 about two to three miles south of Perry.” The Dallas County Sheriff’s office was notified.
  • A caller reported a suspicious person. Officers responded but did not find anyone.

September 26, 2017

  • A caller reported “two horses running loose on Iowa Highway 141 near the Bouton turnoff.” The Dallas County Sheriff’s office was notified.
  • A 911 caller “wanted to know how to change the password on her phone.” An officer responded.
  • A caller “said her tires were slashed last night.” An officer responded and “observed puncture marks in all four tires.”
  • A caller said a vehicle “has slashed tires.” An officer responded and found “all four tires” were “punctured and deflated.”
  • A caller said “a vehicle just drove into a beam they were transporting at” the Perry Police Department sally port construction site. An officer responded and determined the incident involved no injuries and about $2,000 in damages to the vehicle of Bernard Roy Williams, 88, 707 Fifth St., Perry.
  • A caller said “while at the mailboxes,” he was approached by a woman “who was crying.” The caller said he “thinks she may be having domestic problems.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dog.
  • Diante Wallace, 29, 1107 Rittenhouse St., Des Moines, was arrested on a Pottawattamie County warrant for violation of a no-contact order.
  • A caller said “two kids were outside without coats and were yelling.” An officer responded.
  • A caller reported an abandoned bicycle near his property. An officer responded but did not find the bicycle.
  • A caller said her cat was lost.
  • A caller said her sister-in-law “has been living there for months and does not leave.” Shortly afterward, a 911 call was received from the same caller, who said “her hair got pulled by her sister-in-law.” Officers responded.

September 27, 2017

  • Matthew James Kilts, 37, 2014 Warford St., Perry, was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for probation violation on an original charge of criminal mischief. Kilts was also arrested on a charge of carrying weapons.
  • Steven Samuel Paul Schleicher, 32, 1402 Willis Ave., #2, Perry, was arrested on a charge of second-offense OWI.
  • A caller “reported a dead raccoon on the west side of his house.” The caller said “he didn’t know how to get rid of it or where to take it.” An officer responded and located “an old carcass of a raccoon.” The officer advised the caller to “scoop the remains up, place them in a trash bag and leave it for garbage to pick up on the normal route.”
  • A caller said “her last memory was when she got off work at 6 p.m. She lost all time from 6 p.m. until noon today.” An officer responded.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. with a billfold he said he found. An officer responded.
  • A caller requested assistance from the Perry Police Department regarding “trespassing.” Officers responded and found the caller “was upset that KCCI was at the residence. KCCI left shortly after.”
  • A caller said a vehicle “was speeding down the alley behind her brother’s residence.” An officer responded.
  • Melissa Marie Kroupa, 38, 2200 Sycamore St., Granger, was arrested on a charge of fourth-degree theft.
  • A caller said her cat was missing.
  • A caller said someone “was riding his three wheeler in and around the alleyways.” An officer responded.

September 28, 2017

  • A caller from the Dallas County Hospital “requested help for a patient in distress.” Officers responded and the Dallas County EMS was paged.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
