Perry prom to have a “Las Boho” theme

Pretty maids all in a row: junior class ladies pose at the Rowley Masonic Home last April. The 2017 Perry Prom will be held April 29.

The 2017 Perry High School Prom will be held April 29, with the traditional couples “Walk-In” to be held at the Perry Performing Arts Center beginning at 6 p.m.

Two themes were competing for honors this year: Las Vegas and Bohemian. The junior prom committee decided to merge the two ideas, thus “Las Boho” will be the theme.

When the Walk-In concludes at 7 p.m. a police escort will lead the prom goers, en masse, to Lake Robbins Ballroom, where dinner will be served from 7:30-8:30 p.m. A pasta bar, salad, bread, dessert and drink will be offered.

The dance will be held from 8:30-11:45 p.m. with a photo booth and casino games also offered.

After Prom will commence at 12:30 a.m. at Perry High School. Doors will be closed promptly at 12:30 a.m. and no admittance will be allowed once the doors are closed.

A hypnotist will perform from 12:30 until approximately 1:45 a.m. at which time students may participate in a variety of activities. Inflatables will be in the Senior High gym, with Bubble Soccer to be played in the Middle School gym (a waiver is required to participate in Bubble Soccer). A Henna tattoo artist will be on duty in the PHS Commons, where snacks will be served. A Game Truck will be located just outside the main entrance to PHS.

After Prom will conclude at 4 a.m.

  1. Hmnn? One common trait between those of Las Vegas sensibilities and those who chose Bohemian lifestyles is an indifference to money. Interesting choice here.
