With more snow in the forecast, the Perry Community School District will dismiss two hours early Friday, Feb. 14, PCSD Superintendent Clark Wicks announced Friday morning.
Afternoon preschool is also canceled, the district said.
St. Patrick Catholic School announced it will postpone all parent-teacher conferences scheduled for after 1 p.m. Friday. The school said further information will be sent out to parents who need conferences rescheduled.
The National Weather Service office in Johnston said snow is expected Friday afternoon and evening, with likely impacts to the evening commute from blowing and drifting snow and southerly wind gusts of 30-40 mph.
Accumulations of 1-2 inches are likely Friday, the NWS said, with the highest amounts in northeast Iowa. More snow is forecast overnight over central and northern Iowa. A wintry mix of freezing rain and snow is possible in southern Iowa.
