The pace of activities for Perry Scouts BSA Troop 127 has picked up pace since March, when the troop became coed under the leadership of Scout Masters Scot Snyder and Amber Ross.
Females joined the Perry troop March 8 under Ross’ leadership. The Perry Cub Scouts Pack 127 has included females since 2018. Cubs include children in grades kindergarten through fifth, and scouts are aged 11-18.
“Everything has been smooth,” said Scoutmaster Snyder. “We have had one campout as a group so far, and everyone had a great time even with the cold.”
Troop 127 has also launched a fundraising campaign by selling rain barrels for $60 each. All proceeds will be used to send the scouts to camp, Snyder said.
“We are trying for at lease one more campout before summer camp in June as well as our litter cleanup on U.S. Highway 169,” he said.
Troop 127 includes Scouts Rogan Dougan, Shawn Graham, Kylee Hochstetler, Zane Linn, Dominic Rinner, Adelyn Ross, Caleb Snyder, Kamryn Snyder and Ivan Willett. Adult leaders include Snyder, Ross, Joe Royer and the Rev. Kat Stokes.
