Perry swimmers finishes regular season with win at Denison

DENISON — The Perry Summer Swim Team will compete in the Iowa West Swim Conference meet here Saturday, the event beginning at 11 a.m.

If Tuesday’s visit to Denison can be replicated, PSST could be in store for a special day at the big meet.

Perry had four swimmers record a perfect five wins Tuesday, helping carry the guests to a 295-270 victory. The win caps the PSST regular season at an impressive 8-1.

Jaylene Karolus and Sophia McDevitt (both 13-14) had five wins for the Perry girls, with Quin Mahler-Moreno (11-12) and Anna Ridnour (15-18) each winning three times.

Winning twice for PSST were Aleah Karolus (9-10), Lilly Riley (11-12), Addison Huntington and Jenna Nelson (both 13-14) and the 15-18 trio of Abby Herman, Dannah Karolus and Sarah Vaughn. Maddie McDevitt (11-12) added to the point total with a win as well.

Joel Storey (11-12) and Garrett Winey (13-14) led the PSST boys with five victories apiece, with Ethan Winey (15-18) winning four times. Winning twice were Dysen Deardorff (8U) and both Isaac Noble and Drew Storey (both 15-18).

Perry also received victories from Bryan Anderson, Townes Wilson and Isaac Winey (all 9-10), Sam Noble (11-12), Josh Pohl (13-14), and Jacob Storey and Dylan Winey (both 15-18).

PSST is coached by Haileigh Kenyon, with Anna Ridnour assisting.
