Addison Huntington races toward the wall on the breastroke leg of the medley relay against Guthrie Center at the MCB pool last season. The Perry Summer Swim Team won that meet, and on Thursday topped host Guthrie Center.

The points came in buckets at the MCB pool both Tuesday and Thursday, as the Perry Summer Swim Team defeated Guthrie Center, 342-160, and Coon Rapids, 365-230.

The hind howled and the rain poured down during much of Tuesday’s meeting with Guthrie Center, and while the temperature outside fell by the double-digits, no such relief was in site in the stuffy, still air poolside.

The only relief was to be in the water, and the Perry swimmers made the most of their time between the lane ropes with several impressive performances.

Sophia McDevitt (9-10), Jaylene Karolus (11-12) and Haileigh Kenyon and Haley Vaughn (both 15-18) led the girls team with perfect sets of five victories apiece while Addison Huntington (9-10) posted four wins.

Maddie McDevitt (8U), Lilly Riley and Jenna Nelson (both 9-10) and Dannah Karolus (13-14) all had two wins apiece, with single victories tallied by Stephanie Hill and Breanna Penenger (both 15-18).

Chase Archer and Drew Storey (both 13-14) each had quintuple wins for the Perry boys, with Cristopher Gonzalez (11-12) and 15-18 swimmers Alex Thompson and Ethan Winey all recording four wins apiece.

Connor Nielsen (15-18) had three wins, with Riese Archer and Andrew Dowd (both 13-14) and Dylan Winey (15-18) earning double wins. Others touching first were Andy Schuttler (8U) and the 11-12 foursome of Marcus Nelsen, Ian Thompson, Sam Ridnour and Logan Castillo.

Perry was just as dominant Thursday during Coon Rapids’ visit to the MCB.

McDevitt (9-10) and Kenyon and Vaughn (15-18) all had five wins each, with Huntington (9-10) and Dannah Karolus (13-14) winning four times to pace the girls squad.

Avery Miner and Anna Ridnour (13-14) were first to the wall three times, with twin wins tallied by Riley and Emily Dowd (9-10) and Abby Herman (13-14) along with Hill and Penenger (15-18) while Jaylene Karolus (11-12) also had a win.

Garrett Winey (9-10) and Gonzalez (11-12) sped to wins in five events for the boys team, with Storey (13-14) and Thompson, Nielsen and Ethan Winey (15-18) finishing with four wins on their stat sheets while Sam Ridnour (11-12) won three races.

Boys winning twice included Owen Royer (8U), Nelsen (11-12), Dylan Winey (15-18) and the 13-14 trio of Dowd and Chase and Riese Archer.

Ian Thompson and Castillo (11-12) each had wins, as did 8U swimmers Boomer Deardorff, Townes Wilson and Schuttler.

Perry will visit Carroll Tuesday and then return home to entertain Lake City Thursday. Both meets will begin at 6:30 p.m.
