DES MOINES — Perry defeated host Des Moines North and dropped a narrow decision to Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln in a double-dual Thursday.
The format calls for each team to be scored against each opponent individually, with Perry besting the hosts, 51-38, and falling to the Lynx, 50-43. CBAL was a 62-31 winner over DM North.
Perry won 10-of-11 events when times were compared against North and 4-of-11 were scored against CBAL.
Breanna Penenger had the lone personal-best time of the meet for the Jayettes when she posted a 6 minute, 23.09 effort in the 500 freestyle that beat both foes.
Haileigh Kenyon posted a double-win in the 100 freestyle with a clocking of 1:02.03, with Sadee Whitfield second to CBAL in 1:13.25 while Haley Vaughn won against both foes in the 100 breaststroke in 1:22.35; Anna Ridnour was second to North and third to CBAL in the event in 1:34.28.
Vaughn was 1-2 in the 100 butterfly (1:10.13) and Vivian Gonzalez 1-2 in the 100 backstroke (1:20.53), with Penenger 1-2 in the 200 individual medley (2:55.32) while Kenyon was 1-2 in the 200 free (2:27.27) and Ridnour third against North (2:39.24) in the race.
The other individual event saw Gonzalez place 1-2 and Whitfield third to North in the 50 free with times of 30.92 and 34.18, respectively.
Perry used a 2:02.8 effort from Vaughn, Whitfield, Ridnour and Kenyon to top both opponents in the 200 free relay with the 200 medley relay foursome of Gonzalez, Vaughn, Kenyon and Penenger placing 1-2 in 2:20.33.
The 400 free quartet of Gonzalez, Whitfield, Breanna Ackerman and Penenger placed second for Perry against both foes after finishing in 4:54.35.
Perry will conclude their regular season with a pair of home meets, the first of which is Tuesday when Atlantic and Des Moines Roosevelt visit the MCB pool, with the Jayettes to entertain Algona and Carroll Oct. 19. Both meets will start at 6:30 p.m.
