Perry VFD nips house fire in bud Monday afternoon

The Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of smoke coming from a house at 425 Willis Ave. about 5 p.m. Monday. Firefighters battled the fire until after 9 p.m.

Officers of the Perry Polie DEpartment provided traffic control while Perry firefighters stopped the smoking at 425 Willis Ave. Monday afternoon.

A house fire on west Willis Avenue was brought quickly under control Monday afternoon by the Perry Volunteer Fire Department.

There were no injuries in the incident at 425 Willis Ave., where smoke was reported coming from an attic vent shortly after 5 p.m.

The occupants and all house pets escaped unharmed, according to law enforcement on scene.

The cause of the smoke is under investigation at this hour.

  1. Actually, my house reignited…Thankful to the Perry Fire Department. Most of a total loss inside. The fire was not external but wrapped around inside the walls…. not an easy task for the fire department. They went above and beyond to help us locate our precious pets…everyone is safe.
