Ballard, Des Moines Hoover, Roland-Story and Saydel will join host Perry for the Jayette Invitational Thursday. The volleyball tourney has been declared a “pink out/cancer awareness” event.
In honoring Dig For a Cure the Jayettes will be wearing pink uniforms and have asked the visiting teams to don pink of some kind.
There will be special announcements during the starting lineups, as each Perry player has designated a loved one for whom they are playing in support, or in memory, of.
Special Dig For a Cure t-shirts have been sold to honor the event, with proceeds donated to the American Cancer Society.
Action will begin at 4:30 p.m. with all games in the varsity gym.
