BONDURANT — Six Perry seniors had their prep volleyball careers end Tuesday with a 3-0 loss to Bondurant-Farrar in a Class 4A Region 4 Quarterfinal. The Lady Jays (24-10) topped the Jayettes (3-27) on scores of 25-8, 25-6, and 25-14.
Kacy Nevitt and Jasmine Shriver had four kills apiece for the visitors, with Jayna Kenney one. Kenney had six assists and Quinn Whiton three.
Shriver led the defense with 13 digs, with Jenisis Cerna providing five digs and Nevitt and Whiton four each. Kenney had two digs and Ashley Cerna one, with Shriver and Ashley Cerna each credited with an assisted block.
The Jayettes did not have an ace serve and finished 21-of-25 (84 percent) behind the serving line.
Shriver was 5-of-5, with Ashley Cerna, Jenisis Cerna, and Quinn Whiton all 3-of-3. Kenney was 3-of-4, Bella Nath 2-of-3 and Nevitt 2-of-4.
Lanie Fish, Jenisis Cerna, Nath, Nevitt, Shriver, and Whiton, as well as manager Angela Vargas, all had their high school varsity careers ended with the setback.
