Laurann Perry, 23, of Perry was arrested Sunday in Jefferson for driving while barred and again Monday in Perry on the same charge.

The week has not begun well for Laurann Joyce Perry, 23, of 2105 W. Third St. in Perry.

According to the Jefferson Police Department, Perry was stopped for speeding in the 1500 block of 235th Street in Jefferson about 2:15 p.m. Sunday and then arrested when the officer discovered Perry was driving while barred.

Perry was released from the Greene County Jail after seeing the Greene County Magistrate.

Monday was not much improved for Perry because she was again arrested for driving while barred but this time in Perry by an officer of the Perry Police Department.

Perry came to the attention of law enforcement when she was involved in a rear-end collision about 12:45 p.m. in downtown Perry.

Details of the collision have not been released by the Perry Police Department, but the incident resulted in the arrest of Perry on charges of driving while barred and driving while suspended, denied or revoked.

The other driver involved in the rear-end collision was driving with a suspended license, according to law enforcement radio traffic.

Perry is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $3,132 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled to appear in Dallas County District Court Tuesday morning.
