A lucky lady from Perry has won $30,000 in the Iowa Lottery's Colossal Crossword scratch-off game at the Circle K/Phillips 66 gas station and convenience store at 1219 First Ave. in Perry.

A lucky lady from Perry has won $30,000 in the Iowa Lottery’s Colossal Crossword scratch-off game at the Circle K/Phillips 66 gas station and convenience store at 1219 First Ave. in Perry.

Jose Laboy, manager of the downtown business, said the scratch-off winner is a woman from Perry who does not wish to be further identified.

Iowans spent $262.4 million on scratch-off tickets in 2020, according to the Iowa Lottery, an increase of $11.8 million from the previous year. Total lottery sales for 2020 were $372 million in Iowa.

“Since the Iowa Lottery’s start in 1985, its profits have helped make Iowa a better place to live, work and raise a family,” according to the Iowa Lottery website. “The Lottery provides entertainment and prizes to its players while at the same time raising billions of dollars for the state programs that benefit all Iowans.”
