Building a successful high school football program depends greatly on having a large and active youth program.
Much effort has been put into building the youth numbers in Perry in the past few years, and that devotion is starting to show results.
The Perry Youth Football League teams — with numbers higher than in past seasons — were showcased Friday on Dewey Field at halftime of Perry’s varsity contest with Ogden.
Officials with the PYFL are hopeful the experience the youngsters gain this year will lead to continued interest and ongoing participation.
