Perry’s Dr. Joel Lundstrom, DMACC provost, receives PTK award

PHS grad and DMACC Provost Dr. Joel Lundstrom, left, received a Shirley B. Gordon Award of Distinction from the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society during spring commencement exercises on the DMACC Carroll campus. The award was presented to Lundstrom by Katherine “K. T.” Jarvis, president of the Beta Theta Xi Chapter of PTK.

Provost Dr. Joel Lundstrom of the Carroll campus of the Des Moines Area Community College was recently named a Shirley B. Gordon Award of Distinction recipient from the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society.

Lundstrom, a Perry High School graduate, is the son of Richard “Lumpy” Lundstrom and Pat Lundstrom of Perry. He received the award at the spring commencement exercises on the DMACC Carroll campus from Katherine “K. T.” Jarvis, president of the Beta Theta Xi Chapter of PTK.

The Shirley B. Gordon Award honors college presidents and administrators who have demonstrated outstanding effort toward promoting the goals of PTK. The award is named in honor of the late Dr. Shirley B. Gordon, longtime chair of the PTK Board of Directors and president emeritus of Highline College in Des Moines, Wash.
