A favorite Perry tradition continues Friday, Nov. 29 with the Lighted Holiday Parade, presented in partnership with the Matt and Shanda Carstens Family Foundation.
The parade lineup starts at 6 p.m. There is no registration and no charge to enter a float or other entrant into the parade, and prizes of $450, $250 and $150 in Perry Bucks will go to the top three.
All downtown lights will go dark at 7 p.m. in anticipation of the Lighted Parade. For reasons of safety, parade entrants are asked to refrain from throwing candy to the bystanders.
The Matt and Shanda Carstens Family Foundation will host a party Friday from 5-10 p.m. at 1201 Second St., with complimentary drinks and appetizers prior to and after the parade. The Festival of Trees at Carnegie Library Museum will also begin Friday from 6-8 p.m., and a special promotion will take place at Perry Perk from 9am to noon on Saturday, Nov. 30.
The Perry community is invited to participate in this celebration as an official kick-off of the holiday season, promoters said.
