Art students from Perry High School brought home honors Wednesday from district competition held at the Iowa Statehouse in Des Moines.
Capturing first-place honors were Jasmine Shriver in jewelry and Ethan Miller in sculpture.
Hiromi Rosas took second place in jewelry, and Aliyah Taggart took second in sculpture.
Third-place winner was Beau Nelson in sculpture.
Honorable Mentions were garnered by Jocelyn Fuentes in graphite drawing, Hiromi Rosas in graphic design and Neveah Carter in two-dimensional collage.
“They did a great job of representing our school,” said PHS Art Instructor Savannah Belgarde, “and overall as a school we received fourth place in our district.”
