The PHS Pulse dance team kicked it into high gear and hit the right note Thursday night with the “Pitch Kick Perfect” spring performance showcase.
The program offered a dizzying variety of routines, with the PHS Pulse squad performing in many of the two dozen pieces, which included several Just For Kix Camp routines. Performance highlights were the senior spotlight dances by PHS seniors Maddy Jans, Brooke Garnes and Desi Hartz.
New this spring were performances by PHS Pulse clinic participants from kindergarten through eighth grade as well as a number of songs and dances requiring audience participation, such as the “Cha Cha Slide” and “Hokey Pokey.”
Pulse members include seniors Brooke Garnes, Desi Hartz and Maddy Jans, juniors Lauren Benjamin and Hannah Meister, sophomores Skylar Cunningham, Selena Garcia, Samantha Macias, Gaby Chavez, Sadee Whitfield and Ciera Bronnenberg and freshmen Delaney Eiteman and Madyson Hill.
Perry students in the PHS Pulse dance clinic met Thursday afternoon in the high school commons and gym and then returned for the evening show, which marked the ninth annual spring showcase.
Clinic participants included kindergartners Ava Belgarde, Ellie Guzman, Ashley Lopez and Autumn Lopez-Myers, second graders Oneida Hernandez, Reagan Baldwin, Hailey Bautista and Mackenzie Kilts, third graders Kennandi Chayet, Christina Kanealy, Melisa Ortega-Gonzalez and Madison Stika, fourth grader Sydney Barkley, sixth grader Jasmin Hernandez, seventh graders Tori Anliker, Eliza Cunningham, Chailynn Shores, Aubree Tasler, Cindy Truong and Quinn Whiton and eighth graders Kaylynn Bousman, Montserrat Gonzalez, Maria Izquierdo, Joscelyn Nunez, Jasmin Olmos, Magley Orellana and Sierra Shore-Newton.
Co-ed gentlemen were John Borjas, Gabe Condie, Mario Cruz, Eoin Davis, Eli Hernandez, Tony Le, J. R. McCord, Malachi Meri, Marcus Meri, Justin Stammer, Jacob Thompson and Noah Wilkening.
