The Perry High School Class of 1972 brought their 50-year class reunions festivities to a close Saturday afternoon by painting the PHS school rock at 18th and McKinley streets.

The students from a class that used to paint the town red gathered to paint the school rock red, white and blue, with a U.S. flag motif on the rock’s southern exposure and an inscription on the north side that said, “Red, White and Blue — Class of ’72.”

As the temperature rose in the afternoon, so did the Bluejay spirits of the painters, who included Class of 1972 graduates Alan Annear, Brad Bailey, Dave Burrell, Ken Cunningham, Jill Dorman, Jan Jahnke, Rodney Stech and Bob Stoner.
