The Perry High School swim team hosted Algona Thursday night at the McCreary Community Building and dropped the meet by a single point, with the final score Algona 81 and Perry 80.
The Perry swimmers won 9 of 11 events.
“We have lots of things to be proud of following this first meet,” said PHS Coach Jean Dowd. “Winning 9 of 11 events was a great way to start the season! Three swimmers had personal best times, and one school record was set. There were swimmers trying events for the first time as well.”
