
One person was injured Saturday afternoon when a pickup truck struck a power pole on First Avenue in downtown Perry.
The crash occurred about 1:15 p.m. in the 1300 block of First Avenue, where the old Ford truck struck the light pole on the southwest corner of the intersection of Pattee Street.
The cause of the collision is unknown at this hour.
A live power line was brought down by the impact and was seen lying along the west side of Iowa Highway 144 (First Avenue). Alliant Energy is en route to the crash at this hour, according to public safety radio traffic.
One person was transported to the Dallas County Hospital by Dallas County EMS, according to public safety radio traffic.
The Perry Police Department, Perry First Responders and Perry Volunteer Fire Department also responded.
