Scott Pierce will be recommended to the Perry School Board at their April 13 meeting as the new Activities Director at PHS.

Current Physical Education teacher Scott Pierce will have his name submitted for approval to the Perry School Board at their April 13 meeting. Pierce would take over as Perry Activities Director at the start of the next school year, replacing Tom Lipovac, who is retiring after more than 40 years with the district.

The position attracted a large number of applicants, several of who were interviewed by administrators, who decided to recommend Pierce for the role. Pierce is also the current Strength and Conditioning coordinator at PHS and serves as an assistant coach for both cross country and track.

He graduated from Grinnell High School and completed his collegiate studies at Graceland University. Pierce and wife Hannah (Marburger) have a young daughter and live in Perry.
