A second tavern might open as soon as next week in Perry if the police department issues a permit to the Playground Lounge at 1008 26th St. in the East Perry Plaza.
Albert Dinwiddie and Jamie Renee Fox, owners of the Playground Lounge, attended Monday night’s meeting of the Perry City Council and answered questions about the proposed business.
The Perry Volunteer Fire Department has inspected the building and approved a fire permit, and the Perry Police Department is expected to make its inspection and issue a permit this week.
The council voted unanimously to grant provisional approval for a class C liquor license for beer and wine to the Playground Lounge in anticipation of the police permit.
Fox has already opened Little C Bargain at 1010 26th St., right next door to the Playground Lounge. The thrift shop is the former site of the New Hope Village.
