An obviously intoxicated man was arrested by officers of the Perry Police Department shortly after midnight Saturday morning outside a local tavern in Perry.

Michael Thomas Sloss, 47, was plainly staggering when stopped by the three officers, who shone bright lights in Sloss’ face while questioning him.

It did not appear a field sobriety test was administered because his non-sobriety was patent. Officers could be seen assisting Sloss into a seated position on the curb.

Radio traffic indicated Sloss was arrested as an intoxicated pedestrian. He has a record of alcohol-related convictions dating from at least 1995, including public intoxication, urinating in public, interference with official acts and simple assault.
