One of the eight members of the Perry girls swim team was notified Friday she had tested positive for COVID-19. The young lady in question has not shown any symptoms but as a consequence of the positive test and as a safety measure, the seven other Jayettes and both coaches will enter quarantine.

Perry will not be allowed to practice or otherwise gather in any matter. The team will lose meets with visiting Algona and Fort Dodge Sept. 24 as well as a Sept. 29 trip to Newton, where Osklaoosa would have also been in action.

Barring further developments, the Jayettes would return to action Oct. 6, when Algona and Grinnell are scheduled to visit the McCreary Community Building pool.
