ADEL — Two thousand days.
That’s how much time passes between a child’s birth and his or her first day of kindergarten. The first 2,000 days of life can have a profound impact on development, making preschool an important — yet costly — decision.
Thanks to the 4Rkids Early Childhood Iowa Area, preschool tuition assistance is available for eligible families. The following income and family-size guidelines give you an idea of whether you qualify.
Family Size | Adjusted Gross Yearly Income |
2 | $32,480 |
3 | $40,840 |
4 | $49,200 |
5 | $57,560 |
6 | $65,920 |
7 | $74,280 |
8 | $82,640 |
Scholarships are available for children who reside in Adair, Dallas, Madison and Warren counties and who have turned 3 years old by Sept. 15, 2017. Additionally, 4-year-olds must be enrolled in a minimum of 10 hours of programming at a cooperating preschool that meets quality standards.
The tuition award will remain in effect until the end of the school year, with the expectation the child’s attendance will be 90 percent or more.
