Democratic presidential candidate Julián Castro will bring his campaign to the Hotel Pattee in Perry Sunday, Sept. 22. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the program will begin at 7 p.m.
Castro served at the U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development in the administration of U.S. President Barack Obama from 2014 to 2017. The Texas native was the mayor of San Antonio, Texas, from 2009 to 2014.
Among his campaign policy positions, Castro has called for universal health care and Medicare for All and said he would fund the program by taxing corporations and the wealthy. Castro also supports the reinstatement of the assault weapons ban and tighter access to high-capacity magazines.
