With front side pressure from Devyn Kemble, Panorama's Kellie Prince (14) picks the pocket of an AC/GC guard last season.

PANORA — Panorama senior guard Kellie Prince splashed a 3-pointer with just over 10 seconds remaining Saturday to lift sixth-ranked Panorama to a 60-58 win over fifth-rated Logan-Magnolia in an Iowa Pride game.

Iowa Pride contests are played as regulation games, but are not counted toward the official record of either team.

Logan-Magnolia was 21-4 last season and reached the 2A Quarterfinals, with Panorama 22-2 after being eliminated in the final seconds of their Regional Finals. Both teams return their full roster. Lo-Ma won their meeting last year, 60-59, when Delaney Ettleman sank 1-of-2 free throws with 2.2 seconds left.

Saturday’s battle was another instant classic, with the hosts falling into a 30-18 hole at the half and trailing, 44-40, after three periods. Panorama grabbed a 49-48 lead halfway through the fourth quarter, but Lo-Ma held a 58-57 edge when Prince buried a 3-pointer with 11 seconds remaining to steal the victory.

Panorama hit six 3-pointers in the game and Lo-Ma 10, with the hosts holding a decisive edge at the foul line, draining 14-of-19 as opposed to 6-of-7 for the guests.

Bailey Beckman had 15 points and Devyn Kemble 14 for Panorama, with Morgan Johnk adding 12 points and Nicole Rolfes 11. Prince had six points and Hope Wilderman two.

Kylan Straight led Lo-Ma with 16 points, with Ettleman and Kenzie Cunad accounting for 12 points apiece to pace the visitors.

Panorama opens their regular season Tuesday with visit from Gilbert. They will then face a real challenge Saturday when they face Springville at Coe College in Cedar Rapids at 3 p.m. The Orioles are ranked first in Class 1A for good reason — they were the 2014 runner-up, are the reigning two-time state champions and graduated just one senior, a part-time reserve. The team is 74-7 over the past three years; Panorama is 60-11.
