A recurring theme played out again last week as the Perry Summer Swim Team was able to post another pair of victories.[wpedon id=”85410″ align=”left”]

Perry began the week with a 417-109 win over a small-roster Glidden squad before going outdoors to defeat host Sac City, 312-287, Thursday.

The victory over Glidden included a pair of record-setting performances, with Ethan Winey taking down his own year-old mark in teh 15-18 100 free by touching in 59.33 seconds. Senior Breanna Penenger set a new MCB pool and Perry team mark in finally succeeding in chasing down a mark she has aimed at for two years — the 15-18 100 free standard of 1 minute, 6.89 seconds set by Haleigh Kenyon in 2016. Penenger hit the wall in 1:06.73 to claim the record.

Sarah Prombo (8U), Maddie McDevitt (9-10), Sophia McDevitt (11-12), and Hailey Greiner (13-14) had five wins apiece for the PSST girls, with Aleah Karolus (9-10), Quin Mahler-Moreno (11-12) and Peneger posting four wins apiece.

Triple victories were recorded by Lydia Nelsen and Lilly Riley (both 11-12), Dannah Karolus and Anna Ridnour (both 15-18) while double-wins were provided by Izzy Powell (8U), Clara Noble (9-10), Zoe Hibbert, Addison Huntington and Jenna Nelson (all 11-12) and Sarah Vaughn (15-18).

Isaac Winey (8U) was the lone Perry boy to post five wins, but Kane Mahler-Moreno (9-10), Garrett Winey (11-12) and Ethan Winey were quadruple winners. Andrew Dowd, Eli Noble and Drew Storey (all 15-18) had triple victories, with Bryan Anderson and Townes Wilson (both 9-10) and Isaac Noble and Sam Ridnour (both 13-14) were double winners.[wpedon id=”85410″ align=”left”]

Joel Storey (11-12), Cristopher Gonzalez and Jacob Storey (both 13-14) and Riese Archer (15-18) also had wins for Perry.

Sophia McDevitt (11-12) and Dannah Karolus (15-18) were the two quintuple victors for the PSST girls Thursday, with Quin Mahler-Moreno (11-12) and Penenger (15-18) the sole four-time winners.

Triple wins were earned by Powell (8U) and Maddie McDevitt (9-10), with Prombo (8U), Hibbert and Riley (both 11-12), Ridnour and Vaughn (both 15-18) all winning twice while Aleah Karolus (9-10) also had a win.[wpedon id=”85410″ align=”left”]

Isaac Winey (8U), Garrett Winey (11-12), and Ridnour (13-14) were five-time winners for the Perry boys, with Kane Mahler-Moreno (9-10) and Gonzalez (13-14) four-time victors while Isaac Noble (13-14) posted three wins.

Anderson and Wilson (both 9-10) and Nelsen (13-14) all contributed twin wins, as did the 15-18 quartet of Dowd, Eli Noble, Drew Storey and Ethan Winey.

Perry is off Tuesday, and will conclude their regular season with a meet at Jefferson Thursday. The Iowa Swim West Conference meet will be held at 11 a.m. July 14 in Carroll.
