Public safety agencies responded to a report of visible smoke on the third floor of the Quail Run apartment house at 2902 Iowa St. about 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
Officers of the Perry Police Department and Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs were the first on the scene, evacuating the building and seeking the source of the reported smoke.
The Perry Volunteer Fire Department soon responded and investigated the source of the reported smoke. It appeared no source was found.
The Dallas County EMS was paged and staged nearby.
The 30-unit, three-story apartment house is managed by Mirrian, Kansas-based Cohen-Esrey LLC.
