The Society of Retired Experts (SORE) coffee group met Friday in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the birth of one of the group’s veteran members: Ray Harden of Perry.
The Women of Wonder (WOW) coffee group was also on hand to celebrate the birthday of member Karol Mueller, and the two parties joined hands — and tables — to make a scene of general merriment at the Perry Perk coffeehouse.
Harden will host a program Sunday, July 17 at 2 p.m. at the Carnegie Library Museum, where he will discuss photos of backyard birds of Iowa.
