Remodeling is underway at the downtown Perry retail space at 1305 Second St., owned by Cronk Properties LLC, the latest sign of Perry's retail revival.

Remodeling is proceeding at 1305 Second St. in downtown Perry, the former site of Perry Family Dentistry, where Donna Jean Cronk, longtime owner of the Flowers by Donna Jean store on S. Main Street in Woodward, will soon flex her retail muscle in the Perry market.

Cronk has been selling flowers in Woodward since 1990 and from her Main Street location since 2005. The 102-year-old Perry retail space has preserved the same original style of tin ceilings as is found in the Cronks’ 119-year-old Woodward store, and the tiled floor has held up well.

Dave Cronk, Donna Jean’s Cronk’s husband, was busily working Thursday morning in theĀ 3,400-square-foot building that dates to 1917 and is listed on the U.S. Department of the Interior’s National Register of Historic Places.

According to county records, Cronk Properties LLC acquired the Second Street property Feb. 1. Dave Cronk was indefinite Thursday as to the timeline for the remodeling and eventual opening.

“When it’s done,” Cronk said, when asked when the work would be done.
