The Dallas County Area Retired School Personnel Association (DCARSPA) kicked off their 2015-2016 year with a program by Bob Wilson, executive director of the Perry-Area Chamber of Commerce.

In a presentation delivered last week at the Perry Lutheran Home’s Spring Valley Campus, Wilson shared the Chamber’s duties and programs as well as their new logo. He highlighted five September events planned for Perry and encouraged the retired school system staffers to get involved.

After Wilson’s presentation and a brief-question-and-answer session, many of the school personnel shared their memories of “Bobby Wilson” from his days in the Perry schools. He was fondly remembered for his precocious wit and high spirit, traits that still serve him well as Perry’s all-season booster, commerce promoter and goodwill ambassador.

DCARSPA members are retired school employees who either worked or currently live in Dallas County. The association is affiliated with the Iowa State Retired School Personnel Association and has been meeting for 23 years.
