Richard Wede of Perry, a member of the Society of Retired Educators (SORE), will turn 75 on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, so he favored his fellow SORE members with coffee and sweet rolls Friday morning at the Perry Perk coffeehouse in downtown Perry.
Wede retired as the superintendent of schools in the South Winneshiek Community School District in Calmar before moving to Perry in 2022.
A chorus of the Women of Wonder (WOW) were also on hand to celebrate tunefully Richard’s birthday.
