Last weekend’s pre-fair June rodeo nights at the Dallas County Fairgrounds in Adel drew a large sporting crowd, and beers, boots and BS were plentiful.
Friday’s night festivities began with the crowning of Emma Bair of Keswick as 2019 Miss Rodeo Dallas County.
Competitive events included bronc riding, calf roping, barrel racing, bull riding and other exciting contests involving cowboys, cowgirls and livestock. Friday night was sponsored by the Dallas County Fair and the Raccoon River Riders Equestrian Drill Team.
Live music by Neil Hewitt followed the sports.
Saturday night’s events were sponsored by the Wright Rodeo, Raccoon River Riders Equestrian Drill Team and the musical guest TOAST3R!
This year’s Dallas County Fair begins July 9 and continues through July 14.
