The Perry Hy-Vee underwent a leadership change Friday when Matt Rohe left the company has worked for since 1996.
“We were as surprised as anybody” by the departure of Rohe, said Perry Hy-Vee Interim Manager Ben Larson of Perry.
Rohe started at the Perry store in January 2017 after two years at the Pleasantville Hy-Vee. He was preceded in Perry by Matt May, who was transferred to a store in Madison, Wis.
Rohe was reportedly escorted to his vehicle Friday morning, a standard practice in corporate America, but the reason for his departure is unknown at present.
“We’re as clueless as you,” Lawson said. “Marcie and I are the go-to people for the time being.”
The Perry Hy-Vee employs about 150 full-time and part-time workers.
