Rose Ilene Dorman Menz, 92, of Perry passed away March 1, 2025, in Perry, Iowa.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be held Saturday, March 15 at the Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home-Perry Chapel from 10-11:30 a.m., followed by a luncheon at the Elks Lodge 407 in Perry and a private family burial at the Fairview Cemetery in rural Perry, Iowa.
Rose was born Dec. 9, 1932, in Rippey, Iowa, to Grant and Irene (Johnson) Dorman.
She grew up on a farm north of Perry and attended Douglas Country School and graduated from Perry High School with the Class of 1951.
On Sept. 13, 1953, she married Marvin W. Menz in Perry, where she lived her entire life.
In her younger years, Rose worked at the telephone office and the local bank. She also helped Marvin with their construction business and rental properties.
Rose enjoyed traveling, painting, gardening, watching birds and spending time with family and friends. She was also a member of the Garden Club with her sister-in-law, Lila Menz.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Irene Dorman; her husband, Marvin Menz; son, Marshall Menz; grandson, Joseph Geer; and brothers, Gene Dorman and Chuck Dorman.
Rose is survived by her children and their families, Christine (Charlie) Geer of Rochester, Minnesota, and their children, Kevin (Amanda) Geer, Ben (Betsy) Gabrielle and their children, Esther and Chloe, and Brian Geer; Doug (Barb) Menz of Perry and their children, Andrea (Cory) Tunink of Perry and their children, Peyton, Maci and Aiden; Jeff (Janelle) Menz of Perry, and their children Anthony and Anna; Cherie (Shaun) Welch of Perry and their children, Brady and Harper; Connie (Steve) Stalzer of Perry and their children, Heath and Dana; daughter-in-law, Janel Menz, and her son, Chad, and his daughter, Alannah; and sisters-in-law, Charlene Dorman and Carol Dorman.
A special thank you to the nurses and staffing at Eden Acres for the care given to Rose this past year and a half.
