Saturday’s sunny afternoon drew a large crowd to the open house hosted by the Rowley Masonic Community in Perry, which showcased its new wing and its mainstreet- and neighborhood-based arrangement.
Entertainment for all ages–from Za Ga Zig clowns for the youngsters to refreshments and light music for the adults–filled the halls of the expanded Rowley Masonic Community.
Chad West, lead architect of the new wing, with Ames-based Haila Architecture Structure Planning, was on hand with his wife Jaime and children, Michaela, 5, Jocelyn, 3, and Gabriel, 1.
Grand Mason Cleon Babcock said the Iowa Masons made a large investment in the new Perry facility and are pleased with the results.
Rowley Masonic Community Administrator LuCinda Friess greeted visitors and facilitated the activities.
“We’ve come a long way from the plaster and sawdust of just a few months ago,” Friess said.
