Sara Janell Eiteman of Perry

Sara Janell Eiteman, daughter of John Stephen Henry and Lynette Avis Bielfelt Henry, was born April 21, 1977, in Boone, Iowa, and died at her home in Perry, Iowa, May 3, 2017. Sara had recently celebrated her 40th birthday.

Funeral services were held Monday May 8 at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry. Words of comfort were given by the Rev. Charles Compton of the Perry Bible Church. Honorary Casket Bearers were Sara’s children, Devon Booth, Cayl Booth, Tyler Booth, Kassandra Eiteman, Jennifer Eiteman, Kory Eiteman, Lacy Eiteman and Brady Eiteman.

Casket Bearers were Brian Eiteman, Jason Bane, TeJay Meredith, Lucas Bielfelt, Clint Nelsen and Fred Eiteman.

Recorded music shared during the service was “Arms of an Angel” by the O’Neal Brothers, “Love of a Lifetime” by Firehouse, “When I Look into Your Eyes” by Firehouse, “Have I Told You Lately” by Rod Stewart and “You’re Beautiful” by the O’Neal Brothers.

Interment followed the services at the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry. A time of lunch and fellowship followed in the funeral home lounge.

Sara inherited a debilitating disorder called Ehler–Danlos syndrome, which causes the elastic connective tissue, especially of the joints and aorta, to become loose. Sara spent many hours on her Facebook page, supporting others with this disorder.

She was a brave wife and mother who cared deeply for her family.

Sara graduated Boone High School in 1995. She attended DMACC, where she received her phlebotomy training.

She worked at the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames until her marriage Oct. 31, 2009, to Joel Eiteman. With her own three sons, she lovingly accepted Joel’s five children.

During her high school days, she always enjoyed volunteering as an athletic trainer.

Sara crocheted and colored adult coloring books.

Sara was preceded in death by her mother, Lynette Henry; infant sister, Elizabeth; aunt, Lynda Lewiston; grandfather, Robert Bielfelt; infant brother-in-law, Andy Eiteman; and nephew, Casey Eiteman.

Sara’s memory will always strengthen her family’s future, including her husband, Joel Eiteman of Perry; father, John Henry of Boone; sons, Devon, Cayl and Tyler Booth; children, Kassandra, Jennifer, Kory, Lacy and Brady Eiteman; grandchildren, Oliver Long and Blake Todd; grandmother, Helen Bielfelt of Boone; grandmother-in-law, Ruth Barr of Perry; brother, Joel (Spring) Henry of Adel; nephews, Jacob Brauch and James Henry; niece, Katie Brauch; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Ruthann Eiteman; brothers-in-law, Brian (Deanna) Eiteman and Jamie (Lori) Eiteman, all of Perry; niece-in-law, Cassie (George) Maldonado, and their children, Cruz and Lucy Maldonado; aunts; uncles, Jodi (Tim) Meredith, Randy (Mina) Bielfelt, Don Lewiston and Kathy (Kevin) Crees; other relatives; and friends.
