Perfect spring weather brought a large holiday crowd to the annual Perry Parks and Recreation Easter Egg Hunt Saturday morning in Wiese Park.

The annual hunt, with treats and prizes this year sponsored by Ben’s Five and Dime, Casey’s and Hy-Vee, started at 10:30 a.m., with children ages 2 to 8 divided into three classes.

Perry Parks and Recreation Department Director John Anderson, Assistant Director Becky Halling and Aquatics/Wellness Coordinator Kami Kirchner prepared the field by scattering hundreds of pastel eggs, some containing candy and others with tickets that could be exchanged for prizes.

The Easter Bunny posed for pictures with the kids from 10 a.m. until the time of the hunt, which was completed in fewer than 60 seconds once Halling gave the young hunters the signal to hunt.
