Junior southpaw Kyle Nevitt started on the bump for Perry against Bondurant-Farrar June 9.

SAYDEL — Perry scored four runs on six hits Thursday, numbers that will win more than a fair share of baseball games. Unfortunately for the Bluejays it was not nearly enough, as host Saydel (14-1) used 13 hits to produce 16 runs to claim a lopsided win over their guests.

Perry (5-12) scored three times in the top of the second inning to counter a three-run first frame from Saydel, but the Eagles added three more runs in their second at-bat to seize a 6-3 lead.

The score stood at 8-4 in favor of the hosts after five innings when Saydel exploded for eight runs in the sixth stanza to blow open the contest.

Rece Martin was 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBIs and three runs scored for the home team, with Devi Porter 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs and three runs scored. Craig Garrison was 2-for-3 with three RBIs while Dylan Coffin finished 3-for-4 and scored three times from his ninth spot in the Eagle lineup.

Perry received two hits apiece from Kaleb Olejniczak, Brandon Kenyon and Kade VanKirk.

The Bluejays host their annual tournament tomorrow and will play at 10 p.m. and 2 p.m. with games slated for 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. as well as Davenport Assumption Catholic, Greene County and Sergeant Bluff-Luton all visit Progressive Field.
