Afton Meyers of Perry surprised the officers and staff of the Perry Police Department Thursday when she bought them a big batch of submarine sandwiches from Subway.
Meyers, who just finished kindergarten at the Perry Elementary School, was chosen a Bluejay Leader for April and May, and her spontaneous gift to the local law enforcement officers show her leadership qualities.
“She has been wanting to do something kind for them for quite some time,” said Kim Meyers, Afton’s mom. “I’m very proud of her.”
