Scout Packs 127 stage annual Pinewood Derby races Sunday

Trophies and ribbons awaited the winners of the annual Pinewood Derby races, staged Sunday by Troops 127 of the Perry Boy Scouts and Perry Cub Scouts.

Troops 127 of the Perry Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts staged their annual Pinewood Derby races Sunday afternoon in the First United Methodist Church Annex.

Scoutmaster David Crooks presided over the traditional races, with a crowd of some 50 scouts and cubs and their supportive families attending.

Some 16 scouts participated, with each troop awarding first, second and third place prizes. Boy Scout Troop 127 winners were Sean Spencer taking first place, Ethan Light in second and Jeremiah Cregeen in third.

The gathered Scouts recited the pledge and engaged in other ceremonies prior to the start of the races.
