Emma Olejniczak strikes out a Clarke batter June 21 in a game that was eventually cancelled by weather. Brooke Huntington catches for Perry, and was the battery-mate for all 315 of Olejniczak's strikeouts this season.

For four innings the Perry softball team made Class 4A No. 2 Carlisle uncomfortable. Unfortunately, regulations games last seven frames.

The Wildcats (26-6, 10-1) scored once in the top of the fifth, three times in the sixth and once more in the seventh Monday to hand the Jayettes (18-11, 3-9) a 5-0 setback in Raccoon River Conference play.

Emma Olejniczak struck out two of the first three batters she faced and finished with seven strikeouts in the game. She surrendered five runs on five hits and four walks in taking the loss in the ring.

Alyssa Kruger had a double to account for the lone hit from the hosts.

Perry hosts winless Des Moines North tonight, with youth softball players recognized before the game.
