The football postseason will continue for 32 teams in each class Friday as the second round games kick off at 7 pm. Admission is $6.
In games involving Class 3A District 8 teams Norwalk (2-5) will visit Lewis Central (6-1) and Winterset (6-2) travels to Pella (5-2), with District 7 represented by Carlisle (5-3) playing at DC-G (7-0), Bondurant-Farrar (5-3) at Harlan (7-0) and Nevada (6-2) at Ballard. The Cubs defeated Perry, 69-6, Friday, and their game with Ballard will be played in Boone.
In Class 2A District 9 Greene County (6-2) will entertain Clarinda (4-4) at Linduska Field.
Games from 1A D8 include Panorama (6-2) at Pella Christian (5-3) and Woodward-Granger (6-2) at Underwood (7-1). Van Meter (7-0) will host AC/GC (4-4), with Kuemper Catholic (2-6) traveling to Emmetsburg (6-1).
Class A D8 games include Madrid (3-3) at West Hankock (7-1), with Ogden (4-2) at Emmetsburg (7-0) and Nodaway Valley (3-5) at Earlham (5-2).
The IHSAA will reseed the 16 surviving teams in each round after Friday’s games. Only those 16 teams will receive official recognition (banner, title, etc) as a “playoff” team.
All third and fourth round games have an admission of $8, with the semifinals and finals (at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls) having a $10 admission fee.
