Serial assailant faces probation-violation charges

Steven Samuel Paul Schleicher, 35, of Woodward was arrested Friday on a Dallas County warrant for probation violation on an original charge of assault with intent to inflict serious injury.

A Woodward man was arrested Friday for allegedly violating probation in connection for an assault he committed in 2017 in front of the Perry Public Library.

Steven Samuel Paul Schleicher, 35, of 706 Cedar Ave., Woodward, was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for probation violation on an original charge of assault with intent to inflict serious injury.

Schleicher is held on unrelated charges in the Polk County Jail on a $55,000 cash bond. He is scheduled for a probation violation hearing Jan. 22 in Dallas County District Court. He is scheduled for trial March 15 in Polk County District Court.

Schleicher was convicted of domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness in 2007 in Polk County District Court. He was convicted of assault use/display of a weapon in 2011 in Polk County District Court. He was convicted of interference with official acts in 2017 in Polk County District Court. He was convicted of assault with intent to inflict serious injury in 2018 in Dallas County District Court. He was arrested on charges of first-offense domestic abuse assault, obstruction of emergency communications and child endangerment in November 2020. The case is pending in Polk County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is innocent until and unless proven guilty.

  1. This man needs to be put away for a very long time! We don’t need a person like this on the streets for the things he has done, especially for the crime he did in front of the library. He should have never been set free in the first place for that crime! He is a menace to society!
