Seven people in the Adel-De Soto-Minburn Community School District tested positive since Jan. 8 for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, ADM Superintendent Greg Dufoe announced Monday.

A staff member at the Adel Elementary School tested positive Jan. 8, and one close contact was also quarantined, Dufoe said.

Two Adel Elementary School students, one Adel Middle School staff member, two De Soto Intermediate School students and one ADM High School student tested positive this week.

Three other persons were quarantined as close contacts of the infected students and staff member.

The ADM Community School District had about 1,900 students enrolled in 2019, with about 500 in the high school. The district’s ongoing virus-mitigation strategies can be reviewed on the ADM dashboard.
