Five students and two staff members in the Adel-De Soto-Minburn Community School District tested positive since Feb. 5 for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, according to communications from ADM Superintendent Greg Dufoe.
One student and one staff member at the De Soto Intermediate School, one staff member at the Adel Middle School and four students at the ADM High School tested positive. In addition, 12 other persons were quarantined as close contacts of the infected students and staff members.
The ADM Community School District had about 1,900 students enrolled in 2019, with about 500 in the high school. The district’s ongoing virus-mitigation strategies can be reviewed on the ADM dashboard.
